## How it works

- A lab has an Overview, a Briefing, Access instructions and Milestones; each milestone has steps with numbered actions, screenshots, videos, code with copy buttons, files and "Done when" checks.
- Attendees join an event with an access code, work through milestones that unlock in order, and submit to see their results.
- Badges: Hero (90% or more), Champion (the lab's pass mark), Explorer (finished). Event badges for completing every lab. Badges are Open Badges 3.0 credentials signed with Ed25519, shareable on LinkedIn and verifiable at https://origin.herolabs.cloud/verify. Issuer keys: https://origin.herolabs.cloud/api/public/issuer/jwks.json
- Instructors see every attendee's progress live, run a projector leaderboard, and export results as CSV.

- Instructor Pro: $49.99 per month, billed annually ($599.88 a year). For trainers and MVPs who run labs all year. Includes: Unlimited labs and events; Up to 150 attendees per event; AI lab authoring and imports; MCP connector for Claude Code and GitHub Copilot; Verifiable badges with LinkedIn sharing. AI authoring included.

## For AI assistants and agents

- Instructors on paid plans can connect an MCP client (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot in VS Code, Claude Desktop) to https://origin.herolabs.cloud/mcp with a personal token created in the instructor console under Connect AI. Tools include list_labs, get_lab, create_lab, add_milestone, add_step, update_step, set_step_image, validate_lab, publish_lab, create_event and get_event_results.
- Attendee sessions, results and instructor consoles are private and require sign in.
